BUSINESS SCHEDULE: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent with additional secretarial/business/computer courses. Associate degree in the Business field required; bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related discipline preferred.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Five or more years’ experience in a hands-on human resource assignment, preferably with a non-profit organization or a service contract provider to the US government.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resource Administration, HR employment law, employee relations, recruiting, and benefits
  • Skills in using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated HRIS/payroll system.
  • One or more years of experience in recruitment, affirmative action, diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • PHR or equivalent certification preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating an agency vehicle, have a good driving record, a valid driver’s license, and/or the required level of personal auto insurance.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, per company requirements.

  • Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
Responsible for day-to-day administration of various human resources programs, including labor relations, employee relations and communication, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, I-9 verification, drug screens, background checks, and new hire orientation. Also responsible for educating and resolving any human resources-related questions or issues for employees from onboarding throughout their tenure with the company. Must play an integral role working with supervisors, managers, and the HR Team to support human resources functions and/or other special projects.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Plan and host events to promote cultural diversity awareness, partner with leadership to develop and execute a cohesive, innovative approach for DEI to align and integrate a range of new and existing initiatives.
  • Leverage data to measure, track, and analyze the effectiveness of DEI initiatives to report on progress and identify opportunities to inspire action, drive outcomes, and fulfill all affirmative action reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the Affirmative Action Plan, including the extraction of information from HRIS and/or ATS
  • Assist in completing EEO-1 and VETS 4212 Reports
  • Conduct investigations of complaints and make recommendations for the Director of Human Resources' review and finalization
  • Proactively work with managers and employees to address employee performance issues, investigate employee complaints, and provide guidance to management on an appropriate resolution.
  • Provide guidance and advice throughout the disciplinary process.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Process, verify, and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as employee pay changes, performance evaluations, and classifications.
  • Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
  • Process and review information as supplied by in-house counselors for reports regarding disability status reporting.
  • Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
  • Compile and prepare reports and documents about personnel activities.
  • Gather personnel records from other departments and/or employees.
  • Search employee files to obtain information for authorized persons and organizations, such as credit bureaus and finance companies.
  • Participate in the onboarding process.
  • Efficiently maintain an HRIS system that appropriately maintains and provides for all informational requests.
